Our Story

Founded by Omer Bozdag, CurrencyMate was created to solve a simple problem: Canadians were paying too much for foreign exchange. Banks embed 1–3% hidden margins in their exchange rates, costing businesses and individuals thousands on every transaction.

Omer has spent nearly a decade in global payments and FX across North America and Australia, working directly with importers, exporters, technology firms, and private clients. CurrencyMate applies that institutional experience to Canadian businesses and individuals who have historically been underserved by both banks and generic online platforms.

CurrencyMate operates as an independent partner of Mark Lane Canada Inc., which is registered as a Money Services Business (MSB) with FINTRAC (Registration #C100000673) and licensed with Revenue Quebec (License #21225). Client funds are held separately from operating funds at regulated financial institutions.
