Foreign exchange and payment services are provided through Mark Lane Canada Inc., a money services business registered with FINTRAC (Registration #C100000673) and licensed with Revenu Québec (Licence #21225). CurrencyMate Inc. operates as an independent partner.
What FINTRAC registration means
FINTRAC is Canada's financial intelligence unit. Money services businesses must register with FINTRAC and meet anti-money laundering obligations such as client identification, record keeping and reporting. Registration is not a licence, an endorsement or a guarantee, and it does not provide deposit insurance. You can verify any registration on FINTRAC's public MSB registry.
Know your client (KYC and KYB)
- Individuals verify identity before their first trade.
- Businesses provide incorporation details and identify directors and beneficial owners.
- We may ask about the purpose of a payment and the source of funds, as required by law.
No deposit protection
Funds held for foreign exchange transactions are not bank deposits and are not covered by CDIC deposit insurance.
Privacy and security
We collect only the information needed to verify clients and process payments, and we handle it in line with our Privacy Policy. Website forms are protected by bot detection and submitted over encrypted connections.
